September 27, 202511:00 am - 1:00 pm
About the Event
For our 2025–26 Learning Series we explore the theme of Built Rebellions and the Art of the Collective. We invite participants to explore the development and impact of grassroots contemporary arts–focused programs and systems aimed at supporting students and communities.
Cabrini Art House is a community-led cultural hub founded by Dr. Cher’Don Reynolds and Marques “Merk” Elliston to honor the resilience and legacy of Cabrini-Green. Rooted in the restoration of William Walker’s iconic “For All Mankind” mural, the Art House builds creative infrastructure with and for former and current residents.
Their Walking Tour—available in digital form for the MCA Learning Series—shares stories of displacement, erasure, and community vision. Designed for classrooms across grade levels and subject areas, the Digital Walking Tour helps educators connect students to Chicago’s living history through art and storytelling.
