Learning Series | Built Rebellions: On Screens

November 01, 202511:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free for educators with registration

Drawing inspiration from exhibitions across the MCA, as well as Chicago History Museum’s Designing for Change: Chicago Protest Art of the 1960s–70s, this educator-focused event invites participants to explore grassroots contemporary arts projects aimed at supporting students and communities.

Led by Eric Von Haynes, this hands-on workshop examines how language and design can inspire change. Using works and ideas from City in a Garden and Designing for Change, participants will craft acrostics to produce text-based artworks that highlight growth, care, print culture, and collective strength in Chicago’s activist history.
