About the Event

For our 2025–26 Learning Series, we explore the theme of Built Rebellions and the Art of the Collective. We invite participants to explore the development and impact of grassroots in contemporary arts–focused programs and systems aimed at supporting students and communities.

Explore multiple modes of interpreting works currently on view at the MCA. The session will be led by Evelyn Sanford Nicholson, Director of School, Youth, and Community Programs, and Miguel Aguilar, Manager of Learning: School Partnership. Our Learning team will facilitate an in-gallery workshop on multiple interpretation, meaning-making strategies, and dialogue props to use in the classroom.

Participants will leave this professional development session with tangible resources for creating space for students to observe, dissect, interrogate, and discuss the meaning behind works.

Funding

Support for Teacher Programs at the MCA is provided by the Lloyd A. Fry Foundation, the Polk Bros. Foundation, and SCHOOL MUSEUM FUND The Hees Family.
