About the Event
For our 2025–26 Learning Series, we explore the theme of Built Rebellions and the Art of the Collective. We invite participants to explore the development and impact of grassroots in contemporary arts–focused programs and systems aimed at supporting students and communities. Panelists with deep roots in Chicago’s civic, cultural, and mutual-aid landscapes share models of independent organizing, community practice, and creative place-making, and imagine new pathways for sustaining collective life beyond work or home.

Cycling x Solidarity is a Chicago mutual-aid cycling collective that organizes rides and mobile support efforts across neighborhoods. Their practice highlights how shared movement and public space can foster community care and collective action.
Nuestro Chicago Archives is a community-driven project dedicated to preserving and sharing Chicago’s Latinx histories through photographs and personal narratives. Their work examines how informal archives serve as third spaces for memory, identity, and belonging.
