About the Event

Summer Tuesdays come alive on the MCA terrace with free concerts highlighting artists from Chicago’s internationally renowned music community. Enjoy live music while relaxing on the lawn with your own picnic, or savor snacks and drinks available for purchase. Then head inside to catch the MCA’s summer exhibitions—we’re open late on Tuesdays and free for Illinois residents. For the month of July, Tuesdays on the Terrace celebrates the MCA’s major exhibition Dancing the Revolution: From Dancehall to Reggaetón. Join us all month long for standout performances highlighting music of the Caribbean.

This week Chicago-based Chillona lights up the stage. She is a powerful performer whose sound ranges from electro ballads to alternative reggaetón. She challenges the boundaries of genre and is redefining what it means to be a Latin Pop Diva.

About the Artist

Named a “local legend” by Metro Chicago, Chillona lives up to the title. Her infectious songs match her stage presence and make for memorable performances. Based in Chicago, Chillona amplifies her Mexican heritage by making music in English and Spanish. With influences like Charli XCX, Kali Uchis and Rosalia, Chillona’s sound ranges from electro ballads to alternative reggaetón bangers. Her debut EP GOTA unifies the two worlds of vulnerability and aggression. Constantly challenging the boundaries of genre, Chillona is redefining what it means to be a Latin Pop Diva.
