Family Days at the MCA
The MCA is a great place for families to connect with contemporary art. Every second Saturday of the month, October through May, enjoy free admission and interactive events that redefine the way that youth and families explore and create art together.
Family Day is an intentional time at the MCA for families, both biological and chosen, to experience a fun and accommodating museum space that engages young visitors and their grown-ups through movement, artmaking, and learning activities. During this new, refreshed season, enjoy open studio sessions, gallery tours, performances, and more, with new artist relationships, organizational partnerships, and Spanish-English bilingual facilitation.
Family Days are organized by Mayra Cecilia Palafox, Manager of Learning, Students, and Families. Admission is free to Family Day attendees. ASL interpretation is provided.
The MCA is proud to be one of 11 Chicago cultural institutions that make up Museums In the Park. Through this partnership and generous support from the Chicago Park District, the MCA participates in the Park Voyagers program, which provides Chicago youth with after-school art programs and families with on-site programming at the museum.

Support for Family Programs is provided in part by the MCA Women’s Board Family Education Initiative.
