About the Event

Summer Tuesdays come alive on the MCA terrace with free concerts highlighting artists from Chicago’s internationally renowned music community. Enjoy live music while relaxing on the lawn with your own picnic, or savor snacks and drinks available for purchase. Then head inside to catch the MCA’s summer exhibitions—we’re open late on Tuesdays and free for Illinois residents.

For their Tuesdays on the Terrace debut, a Party Called: TRIBE, which explores the universal language of body and soul, brings house music to the terrace with the collective Club Crib.

About the Artists

A Party Called: TRIBE is an innovative and vibrant movement that has quickly become a cultural mainstay in the Chicago house music scene. Conceived by DJ Producer M-Dok (Marcus), and cofounded with fellow creatives Syko (Francisco), Ceasedays (Cesar), and J. Star (Joseph), Tribe embodies the universal language of body and soul, resonating through the distinct rhythms of house music. With the power of music and dance, Tribe weaves together diverse threads of community each week, transforming the dance floor into a space of unity, vibrant energy, and unabashed self-expression. The sight is not only a feast for the eyes, but a nourishing experience for the soul, especially when one joins the communal dance circles.

Tribe’s ethos is grounded in inclusivity, encouraging participants to embrace the unconventional and express their authentic selves. The collective is a dynamic tapestry of artists; it’s not limited to DJs but extends to instrumentalists, dancers, visual artists, and community leaders hailing from Chicago’s most vibrant neighborhoods. This talented group of individuals not only orchestrates the weekly party but also contributes to the aesthetic richness of Tribe through their respective artistic mediums, creating a truly immersive, multi-sensory experience.

Despite being a relatively new entity, a Party Called: TRIBE draws on a wellspring of industry experience. Its members and residents boast 15 years of deep-rooted connections within the music scene, including affiliations with Chicago house music pioneers, legends, and other local favorites. The unique blend of this long-standing expertise with Tribe’s fresh, contemporary vision marks them as a significant force in the evolution of Chicago’s house music culture, further enriching the city’s vibrant musical landscape.
