About the Event
Watch never-before-seen footage that follows the life of John Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1970s New York City, including their only complete concert. A conversation with Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald moderated by Rebecca Fons—Head of Cinema at the Barbican, London, and former Director of Programming at the Gene Siskel Film Center—follows the film.

About the Speakers
Kevin Macdonald is an Oscar-winning feature and documentary film director. His films include One Day in September, a documentary about the 1972 murder of 11 Israeli athletes, which won him the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature; the climbing documentary Touching the Void; the historical drama The Last King of Scotland, which won Forest Whitaker the Academy Award for Best Actor; and acclaimed documentaries on artists Whitney Houston and Bob Marley.
Rebecca Fons is film curator, arts administrator, and educator, and serves as the Head of Cinema at the Barbican Centre in London. She most recently served as Director of Programming at the Gene Siskel Film Center, a public program of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; and serves as the Programming Director for the historic Iowa Theater in her hometown of Winterset, IA. Fons previously served as Programming Director for FilmScene in Iowa City, IA; and as Education Director for The Chicago International Film Festival. She is cofounder of the event series Destroy Your Art, and in 2022 was named Chicagoan of the Year in Film by The Chicago Tribune. Fons holds an MA from Columbia College Chicago.
