About the Artists

Keny De La Peña is a Los Angeles raised interdisciplinary artist. He holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA in World Arts and Cultures from UCLA. De La Peña weaves together theories from cultural anthropology with practices and influences from Mexican crafts and art forms to create a praxis that explores the tensions between popular culture, folklore, history, and myth. He believes that the way we care for and craft materiality is inextricably linked to its efficacy in further sustaining a cosmology.

Born and raised in China, Sishi Wang holds an MFA degree in metalsmithing and jewelry design at Indiana University of Bloomington, IN, and a BFA from East Carolina University, NC. Her work reflects elements from everyday life through traditional metalsmithing techniques, and she tells stories through her work. Wang is currently an artist in residence at Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago, IL.
