About the Artists

Cherish Hicks is the founder of Beyond, a wellness platform that partners with luxury hotels, private clubs, and cultural institutions to design elevated mindfulness and sound experiences. Her work has been featured in renowned spaces across Chicago, bringing wellness into unexpected places. Before creating Beyond, Cherish was an elementary educator for 12 years, a foundation that deepens her ability to guide meditation for all ages.

Cristal Sabbagh created Freedom From and Freedom To as an opportunity to combine most of her creative interests in a risk-taking and vulnerable way. It’s an exploration and celebration of artistic circumstance. Movement and sound improvisers from all around Chicago gather in front of a live audience, where they are grouped by chance. Each group performs an improvised set. It fuses diverse backgrounds and artistic practices to create unique and fleeting worlds.

Shira Torrech is a Nonbinary, Puerto Rican artist who graduated from the University of Memphis with a BFA in Art Education. Torrech continues their art career in Chicago, working in a variety of mediums including block printing, illustrations, murals, and paintings.
